Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 20, 2025. Last updated: April 20, 2025.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the website reesetaxwealth.com and is operated by Reese Tax & Wealth, which includes Matt Reese, CPA (tax and accounting) and Measured Risk Portfolios (investment advisory). These are separate legal entities operating under a coordinated service model. This policy covers data collected through the shared website and inquiry form.

Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact information — name, email address, and phone number submitted through our lead capture form.
  • Calculator inputs — financial figures you enter into our exit tax calculator (e.g., business sale price, cost basis, state of residence). These inputs are submitted only if you complete and submit the lead form.
  • UTM and referral parameters — source, medium, campaign, and other URL parameters that indicate how you found our site. These are captured automatically at the time of form submission.
  • Analytics data — page views, session duration, device type, browser, and general geographic location collected via analytics tools. This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you.
  • Cookie data — see the Cookie section below.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or other sensitive financial data through this website.

How we use your information

  • Follow-up outreach — to respond to your inquiry and schedule an initial planning call.
  • CRM management — contact and submission data is stored in HubSpot to organize and manage prospective client relationships.
  • Service improvement — aggregated analytics data is used to understand how visitors use the site and calculator and to improve the content and user experience.
  • Legal compliance — as required by applicable law or regulation.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or significant effects on you.

Third-party processors

We share data with the following categories of service providers solely to operate this website and our client intake process:

  • HubSpot — CRM and email follow-up. Form submissions (name, email, phone, calculator inputs, UTM data) are transmitted to HubSpot and stored in our account.
  • Analytics providers — anonymized page-view and session data may be processed by third-party analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics or equivalent). These providers may set their own cookies.
  • Calendly— if you book a call through our scheduling link, Calendly will collect the information you provide at booking and is subject to Calendly’s own privacy policy.
  • Hosting infrastructure — the site is hosted on cloud infrastructure (e.g., Vercel) that may log request metadata such as IP addresses and timestamps for security and performance purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

No sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or any other third parties, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

Mobile and SMS data

If you provide a phone number and consent to SMS communication, that information will be used solely to contact you regarding your inquiry. We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Categories of cookies used include:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., security, load balancing). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies— used to measure traffic and usage patterns in aggregate. You may opt out by using your browser’s cookie controls, enabling a Do Not Track signal, or using browser extensions that block analytics scripts.
  • Marketing cookies — if retargeting or ad tracking is active, these cookies may be set. You can opt out via the network advertising initiative opt-out tool or by adjusting your browser settings.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Restricting cookies may affect the functionality of some features.

California residents — CCPA rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know — you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete — you may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., information needed to complete a transaction or comply with a legal obligation).
  • Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information, so this right is not applicable, but you may submit a request at any time.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To submit a CCPA request, contact us at the email address in the section below. We will respond within 45 days.

Data retention

We retain contact and inquiry data in HubSpot for as long as necessary to manage the prospective client relationship or as required by law. Analytics data is retained according to the applicable provider’s default retention settings.

Privacy requests and contact

To exercise any of the rights described above, to request access to your data, or to ask questions about this policy, please contact us at:

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond fully within 45 days, or notify you if additional time is required.
